Why this seminar?
Dual‑use items, or goods for dual use, are products that can be used for both civilian and military purposes.
For the export of dual‑use items to countries outside the EU, an export licence is required. This can be obtained from the Central Import and Export Service (CDIU) of Customs.
Examples of dual‑use items include certain pathogens and toxins, as well as equipment and materials that can be used in the processing or production of pathogens or toxins. Your company may also be subject to dual‑use regulations.
Each year, the Export Control and Strategic Goods (ESG) Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs organises an export control seminar. This seminar is widely promoted and covers a range of topics, from the basics of export controls to sanctions and related issues.
