This is the list of pathogenicity classifications of organisms as used by the Dutch bureau for genetically modified organisms (BGGO or GMO Office) when conducting risk analyses of the contained use of genetically modified organisms. The main principle underlying this list concerns the protection of the environment.

This list is based on Appendix 4 of the Genetically Modified Organisms Regulation 2013. This list is used as the basis for the risk assessment in the classification of contained use projects. The list includes the assigned classification of pathogenicity for the viruses listed for activities involving genetically modified organisms. If the classification for the virus is stated in the column "animal and human pathogenic viruses", then the virus is considered a human pathogen for the purposes of the risk assessment (Appendix 5 of the GMO Regulation 2013). If the classification of pathogenicity to the virus is indicated in the column "strictly animal pathogenic viruses", then the virus is considered to be pathogenic only for animal.
